Tools Needed

  • Ice Scoop
  • 14x18 black fiberglass tray
  • 4x4 waffle drip tray

Health and Safety

  • Wash hands before starting to work and after handling anything that is not food related to prevent contamination and health hazards
  • Do not allow ice scoop handles to come in contact with ice
  • Do not handle drink cups around top of cup or lip area
  • Cups should always be upside down for dispensing
  • Wash, rinse, and sanitize all utensils and surfaces that touch food every four hours or anytime they become contaminated

Receiving and Storing

  • Soft drink syrup is received and stored at room temperature (50°F – 70°F) in the dry storage area. All products must be kept at least 6” off the floor.
  • Preparing and Holding
  • Ensure nozzles and diffusers are clean and in place
  • Fill ice bin with ice from ice machine
  • Ice bin must have ice covering the bottom cold plate at all times. This cools the syrup and water reducing the escape of carbonization and melting of ice in the drink which causes the drink to taste flat.
  • Place ice scoop into ice or holder with handle pointing up
  • Ice scoop handle must not come in contact with ice

Serving (Drive-Thru/ Dine-in/Take-out)

  • Using an ice scoop. Fill the proper size cup 2/3 full with ice.
  • Overfilling the cup with ice will cause the drink to taste flat
  • Place cup under desired flavor head
  • Push lever (or button) to dispense drink
  • Tilt cup to reduce foaming
  • Fill to ¼ inch from the top
  • Place a lid on the cup and ensure it is sealed completely
  • Mark the soft drink lid according to the flavor (See Drink Marking chart)
  • Hand prepared soft drink(s) to customer with a straw

Close

  • Fill ice bins
  • Turn off drink dispensers
  • Remove nozzles and diffusers
  • In the 3-compartment sink wash, rinse, and sanitize nozzles and diffusers
  • Place the nozzles and diffusers on a clean sanitized serving tray
  • Place the serving tray on the front counter to air dry overnight
  • vDayshift opener will put the nozzles and diffusers back onto drink systems
  • Wipe down valves activating levers, towers and heads
  • Restock paper products
